The Education Academy
Knowledge and Library Services
Our team of qualified information professionals can support you with your education and professional development; helping you to find the information you need to start, excel, and progress in your career.
You can find out more about our services and resources on the KLS website
Membership to the Knowledge and Library Service is available to all Barts Health staff, students on placement, and volunteers. Prospective new members will be asked to produce proof of employment, normally a staff ID. Students will be asked to produce their university photographic ID badge.
Our Services
- Books and ebooks can be borrowed from our collection, which is available across all sites via a ‘click and collect’ service. Browse our catalogue or let us know if we do not have the book that you want and we can try to order it or borrow from one of our partner NHS libraries.
- eJournals available online via Browzine, or we can provide them via our document supply service if we do not have them in our collection.
- Healthcare databases (e.g. Medline) to search for journal articles, covering a range of disciplines.
- E-resources such as clinical decision support tools and virtual anatomy atlases allow you to access high quality information wherever you are.
- Subject guides provide specialty-specific online library guides to help you find relevant resources all in one place.
- Current awareness bulletins can be tailored to your specific interests; we also curate monthly evidence updates to align with Trust priorities.
- Training we can do 1:1 training with you to teach you how to search databases, appraisal articles or access online resources.
Evidence searches to provide the best available evidence to support your work.
